Dancing Threesome's

A dancing threesome. Say it isn't so.

The show started out with Tom Burgeron's hosting voice, "Welcome to Dancing with the Stars," and the show goes to a...commercial? Gotta love live TV!

First round of dances are dedicated to the Veterans in honor of Veteran's Day. To be honest with you, the only first round dance that stood out to me was Melissa. I loved her dance. She had great technique and looked fantastic. Tony has really done some amazing things with her. You can tell that he has been held back with his previous partners (cough cough Kate Gosselin).

Now it is onto my new obsession. Dancing Trio's. Obsessed.

  • Shawn, Derek, Mark: Samba- 10. This dance was AMAZE-BALLS! I don't care what Len bump on a log says. That dance was the perfect mix of tribal and samba. How in the world did Bruno, you can never do wrong, Tonioli agree with Len that there wasn't enough samba in their dance. Of all people, I thought that Carrie Ann would think that. Bruno obviously didn't take his super hyper dance medication before the show and that is why they were late starting the show.
  • Apolo, Karina, Sasha: Jive-9. Most guts of the night goes to Apolo for being the only celeb to choose a pro of the same sex to dance with on the trio. I didn't know what to expect. I did find myself comparing him to Sasha quite a bit but it really didn't matter because the dance was fantastic.
  • Kristie, Maks, Tristan: Paso doble-7. Angel wings? Really? I don't see how in the world they mattered to her dance. They were a huge distraction. I am a huge Kirstie fan. I quote It Takes Two like nobody's business, (don't judge) but it just wasn't good.
  • Kelly, Val, Louis: Jive-7. MOVE YOUR FEET. It is a jive for crying out loud. Did her feet weigh 30 pounds? I don't get it. I understand that it was hard choreography  I get it. Louis is the best choreographer on the show most likely. But YOU choose him. That dance was honestly one of the biggest disappointments of the night.
  • Gilles, Peta, Chelsie: Salsa- 9.5. He is so good. I love the way he moves. I do think that he lost timing a little bit but overall I wanted to be one of those girls fighting for a chance to dance with Gilles. Oh Gilles. Why? Why are you married?
  • Emmitt, Cheryl, Kym: Salsa- 9. The man can move. No doubt. I just didn't like the choreography  The dance really just showed off Cheryl and Kym. (Insert British accent here) Sorry.
  • Melissa, Tony, Henry: Paso doble- 10. She can just naturally dance. She is such a happy go lucky woman, I was shocked to see her so aggressive. I loved it. She danced to my favorite Adele song of all time. Therefore, she was destined for a perfect night!
Double elimination tomorrow night. Scary. Who do you think will go home?

I would like a fusion dance sandwich please!

What do you get when you combine a Samba and a Rumba? Answer: A fusion dance sandwich. Or to me you can simply call it a hot mess.

This weeks "challenge" was a fusion dance that was chosen by their competitors. Sounds interesting until you see what they have to choose from. Coming from a DWTS junkie, I know all the dances like a boss. I know them backwards and forwards. I saw the list producers came up with and instantly started shaking my head in confusion. Let's also mention how they only know how to combine dances with a samba. Like there are other dances out there that would fuse better with a quickstep and rumba. Let's get a little more creative!

In what world do a Rumba and a samba go together? They don't. Never have and never will.
  • Apolo and Karina- 8.5: Paso/Cha cha- The only good thing about this dance was when Apolo took off his shirt. Dude is ripped. I mean hello!
  • Emmitt and Cheryl-6: Rumba/ Samba- There were so many things wrong with this dance the next president will be announced before I am done complaining about what I didn't like about it. But I will spare you the agony and give you the main points.
    • 1. Breast cancer awareness month is over, no need to over kill the pink dude.
    • 2. Rumba and Samba???? Really
    • 3. On what planet was that a ligit song to play for that dance. Like really? Fail
    • 4. Rumba and samba???? I don't get it.
  • Kirstie and Maks: 7 Quickstep/ samba- Quickstep was good but she lost footing. I just want to know how she is here and Sabrina is not. (There I said it)
  • Kelly and Val: 8- Foxtrot/Cha cha- Cute dance. But I hated that one dance was first then they did the second. I know you could have mixed it better Val. Still good though.
  • Melissa and Tony: 9- Tango/Cha cha- That first costume she had one was incredible. Hair and makeup on her tonight was fantastic. I really did like her dance. She pulled everything out at the very beginning and I think started to lose steam at the end. But in all honesty it was great.
  • Shawn, Derek/Mark: 10- Tango/Paso- Cheers to the only dance that made any logical sense to go together! Paso and Tango are BOTH intense! Therefore it makes sense which is why they go a perfect score. (FINALLY). I wish that Derek could have danced with her because I honestly believe that they dance better. Sorry Mark.
  • Gilles and Pete: 8- Argentine Tango/ Samba- That song was a mess. Congrats Peta for making a tango out of that song. I have no idea how in the world you did it.
Swing dance marathon.
Gilles and Peta got knocked out a round too early in my opinion. Shawn and Mark had an unfair advantage and I noticed (dance police alert) that they pulled moves from their original freestyle together. Not cool. Do it the right way and do new things. Plus why in the world are we recycling music from freestyles. Last week it was Drew Lachey and then it was Donald Driver. Get NEW music. It was a match between Kelly/Val and Melissa/Tony. Kelly and Val definitely had the moves and were really pulling them out. But in the bottom of my heart, I wanted it to be Melissa and Tony. In the end, Melissa and Tony got the ten added to their score!!!! So excited for them. I really do think that she deserves to be on the show and still in the competition.

No results show tomorrow night for the election! Which means.....NO MORE ELECTION COMMERCIALS!!!!!!!! Celebrate good times!!!!!

The fall must have gotten to Carrie Ann

Remember that glorious night when we saw a great dance and someone liked it so much they fell out of their chair? Then the next day they literally lost it on national TV?  I do. That happened to Carrie Ann almost 24 hours ago and it is obviously affecting her ability to judge effectively.

I have never been so confused by judge's comments in my life. I thought Paula when on American Idol was bad but tonight was insane. It must be the fact that the judges are not used to judging on Tuesdays. Right? I mean it has to.

  • Melissa and Tony- 8: She injured her neck during group practice on Sunday night. Considering that I understand why she was very still in hold. But...and I say this with love Tony...it was confusing and had no flow. I don't get the hamster wheel and chemistry class set. Just because the song is Toxic doesn't mean you have to make the dance "toxic" to understand. I just didn't see it.
  • Shawn and Derek- 10: HOW? HOW ? HOW? Did Len and Carrie Ann not see what I saw during that dance? Did Carrie Ann hit her head a little too hard during that fall last night? That was breathtaking. The set. The fog. The costumes. Everything. I have never been so moved during a dance quite like that one. I was ready to pull a Teresa and flip a table or two after I heard what they said. I take back everything I have ever said about her and how I thought she shouldn't have been on all stars. They are the best. I just don't understand how they weren't paired together her first season.(Side note: I totally saw a pic of them on instagram and called the song that they were dancing to just after seeing their costumes. Just saying! Snaps for me!!!!)
  • Apolo and Karina- 8: His original samba with Julianne was so much better and Apolo is too cute to be a pimp! That's all.
  • Sabrina and Louis- 9: Didn't they look just so cute. Wear that to any Halloween costume contest and you will win in a heartbeat. I loved it. So cute. They lost a point for me because it wasn't very fluid. I just wanted it to be smooth like butter. While it was at times, the other times were a bit like rocky road ice cream. Enough of the food analogies. Someone get me chocolate! Stat
Team Freestyle: Gangnam Style (Kelly, Kristie, Emmitt, Gilles)
I have been looking forward to this dance ever since they announced the teams last week. Gangnam Style is basically the new theme song to my house ever since my mother heard it. Every time she heard it no matter where she was at, she wanted to let all us know that she heard it. Basically, we created a lovable Gangnam monster. So needless to say, everyone has been waiting patiently with our glasses and bow ties on to see Gilles Marini do Gangnam style.

They nailed the first costumes with the glasses and wigs. I was so excited. Then they ripped the costumes off to reveal a hot mess of costumes to show where they are playing the song. (gym, club, sauna?) I was a fan of the suits more. I didn't get why they needed to rip off costumes in order to compete with the other team. They never ripped off their clothes to model the latest in club wear. So why did they feel that they needed to? The dance was not together at all. Top it all off when at the very end they messed up the original dance moves. If you are going to do the original famous dance then do the dance the correct way.

END OF RANT.

I fell out of a chair....so Call me Maybe

I wonder who would be a better dancer, Romney or Obama?

This week was this first week of 2 dances a week. Unfortunately, it was cut short to one hour because of this thing. I have never heard of it before but it's called an election/debate. Never heard of it. Wonder what it is all about?

Pssssst who are we kidding. I can't wait until it is over. That way I can watch commercials in peace (insert sarcasm here).

We saw one team dance, and 4 individual dances...Guilty pleasure style.

  • Kelly and Val- 7.5: Her dance last week was good but not everything the judges thought it was. She is beautiful, but she can only do the sexy dances. To be honest, the only dance I liked of hers was the cha cha she did week 1. That paso was good but her shoulders are too stiff. This week was nothing different. Too much in the beginning (like Len said), horrible song UGH (no pun intended), and just didn't make sense.
  • Gilles and Peta- 10: And I...Will always love you I... Will always love you You...  Admit it. You totally belted out that song. The dance was so good women all over the world threw away their copies of 50 Shades of Grey and started watching Gilles' dance on repeat. It got to Carrie Ann so much she fell out of her seat just so Gilles would come to her side and rescue her. Doesn't she know that it only works like that in the movies?
  • Kristie and Maks- 7: Her best dance she has ever done is the cha cha to Forget You her original season. She looks horrible during all the rehearsal footage. That weave needs to go in the trash and be shredded forever and ever amen. Put on some makeup and look like a star.
  • Emmitt and Cheryl- 9.5: You are doing a dance to Barry Manilow's Copacabana and you are wearing that Cheryl?!?!? Did you not listen to the lyrics of the song?

Her name was Lola, she was a showgirl

With yellow feathers in her hair and a dress cut down to there

She would merengue and do the cha-cha

Does that not mean you should be wearing colorful feathers, ruffles, flowers, etc? I was    honestly so bothered by her wardrobe; I didn't really pay attention to Emmitt. At least he looked good and didn't mind looking like a red skittle.

Team Freestyle: Call Me Maybe (Shawn, Melissa, Sabrina, Apolo)
Don't the men look hot in the football gear? I knew I always loved that sport. I would also like to thank the producer who decided to grace my ear buds by not having the singers sing Call Me Maybe. I am forever eternally grateful.

The dance was awesome. They are the freestyle team to beat. Gangnam Style should be awesome, no doubt, but Call Me Maybe had the best team. All the pros on their team are some of the best choreographers on the planet. Derek, Louis, Tony and Karina are unstoppable (Derek Louis especially) when it comes to dances that leave you breathless wondering how the heck they did that. Judges took the words out of my mouth after their dance. But the main reason America should be proud is because Len broke out the 10 paddle. I know. He isn't supposed to break out that bad boy until next week.

Now, I am really excited for tomorrow night to see Gilles shake it like a sexy lady...Gangnam Style.

Dancing with the Pros

The dancing is so much more than what you would think it could be. I honestly have been blown away every single week by a different couple. Last week, Derek and Shawn! Don't get me started on that brilliance. BEST DANCE I have ever seen.

Week 4 and they try to throw in a little twist of picking dances for each other. Interesting twist but not enough of my twist to ruffle my feathers. Apparently it was enough to make many of the pros nervous.

This season is honestly the season of the pros. The talent from the celebrities (minus Pain in my butt) is so good that they have to pull out as many tricks as they can think of to make them stand out to get the votes.

  • Kirstie and Maks 8-Cute but nothing to make me whip out my cell phone to vote. I miss Maks in the leggings wig combo.
  • Bristol and Mark 7- Honest...They did...nope can't say it. Marks facial expressions made me want to be sick. How can they be better dancers than Kirstie and Maks? I don't get it. I know what DWTS is doing and it makes me sick. GO HOMEEEEEEEEEEEEE
  • Sabrina and Louis 9- The girl has moves. That outfit and hair was a disaster but she can dance. I love her and am still holding a grudge about what happened her first season. She can't go home yet... she just can't.
  • Emmitt and Cheryl 7.5- I understand how Cheryl may not have been able to really choreograph this dance considering she has never done it before. But did she really need 4 people to help her? NO. They said you could bring in an expert, not experts. Was the fog necessary? I couldn't see anything over that fog machine set on high. How could any of the judges honestly see their footwork with that thing stinking up the place. I love you Emmitt. I always will but not this week.
  • Gilles and Peta 10- You can come and Bollywood for me anytime. Jai Ho!
  • Melissa and Tony 8.5- I love them. I don't care what you say, they make me happy. Last week she was fantastic. This week was good but considering I have just seen a jive from her 2 weeks ago, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be.
  • Shawn and Derek 10- Derek Hough deserves an Emmy for choreography after this season....too good for words. They should have been paired together in Season 8.
  • Apollo and Karina 8- Hip Hop. I thought they would have a better time with this considering his first freestyle. But the cards just were not in their corner. Mic pack fell, and they had a hard time with one lift. Karina is such a pro. She took all the responsibility for their mishap unlike someone (cough cough Mark. "We are not the only one to break hold").
  • Kelly and Val 8.5- I was very surprised by this dance. I wasn't sure what to expect from her because we first watched her dance Season 1 but she is great. I loved the dance. Loved the song (minus the singers). Loved the chemistry. Quote me on this that they will be a couple by the end of their season.
Paula Abdul was a fabulous guest judge. I missed her on the judging panel surprisingly. She was whitty and very honest in her comments. Loved having her on. I would be all for adding her on permanently. There I said it!

VOTE VOTE VOTE. Another champ could go home because you are too lazy to leave Facebook. Well dear, you don't have that excuse anymore. You can vote through Facebook. SO DO IT...NOW!!

DWTS All Stars...But are they really?!

Forget the speedos, and the gymnastics leotards. It's DWTS time. Cue the music!

Joey Fatone, Gilles Marini, Melissa Rycroft, Pamela Anderson, Kelly Monaco, Shawn Johnson, Kirstie Alley, Helio Castroneves, Drew Lachey, Emmitt Smith, Apolo Ohno and Bristol Palin.

The new All Star cast was just announced and I must say I am a little disappointed.
  1. Stacy Kiebler isn't back which means no George Clooney in the audience (womp womp)
  2. It is mostly old winners who haven't had their name in the spotlight back to get their name back out there. For example Kelly Monaco and Pamela Anderson. Really? Did Holly Madison say no?
  3. Love all the athletes but confused why they are all back. Every athlete who has ever won is back to compete. I get that it is Olympic season but instead of doing an All Star cast, just do a All-Star Athlete season.
  4. Shawn Johnson retired from gymnastics from injury but now can do All Stars? Gold metals looks better in the trophy case than a disco ball trophy. Just Sayin'
  5. Finally, I get a Season 8 rematch. I really want to see who makes it longer Gilles, Melissa, and Shawn may the best reign!
  6. Gilles Marini is back on the dance floor. Be still my beating heart! (swoon)
  7. WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY WHY on all good things in this world is Pain in my side back. The second I heard her name, I  had a 3 year old temper tantrum because I heard Pain in my butt Palin is doing DWTS All stars. GO AWAY. You already have your reality show. You have what you wanted. Why do you have to make me go through the misery AGAIN? Maybe this time a round America is going to do the right thing.
The twist of this season is that there is a viewers vote for the 13th contestant. I can handle that! Drum roll please....Sabrina Bryan, Carson Kressley or Kyle MasseyAll I know is that I am still grieving over Sabrina getting let go so early in the game Season 5. I know, I know I hold grudges. I get it but she was one of the best dancers they probably ever had on the show! If she doesn't win this mini vote, I am going to have to grieve all over again. So please save me the agony and vote Sabrina! The winner will be announced on Aug. 27 on Good Morning America

See you back on Sept. 24th for all the dancing action!

And the Winner is...

Congratulations to the Dancing with the Stars Season 12 Winner....

Hines Ward and Kym Johnson

1st Place: Hines and Kym
2nd Place: Kirstie and Maks
3rd Place: Chelsea and Mark

The finale was nothing but a reunion of all the past contestants who came up short. Yes, I understand that they should do it, BUT it is SO BORING. I don't want to have to reminisce all the dances that sent them home. Who would? The only reason I would is when you have a surprise guest singer to sing to one of the dances. Are you kidding me? Josh Groban...(insert girly scream here). Aww so sweet and honestly the best part of the show if you ask me. I love me some Josh Groban! <3 <3 <3

The finalists get a chance to do their favorite dance over again hoping to get a better score than the first time they preformed it. I think it's an OK idea but when we all know before they step on the dance floor that they will get a prefect score it's pointless.
  • Chelsie and Mark did their Harry Potter Waltz which in my eyes was a dumb move. They did this dance during classical week with a full orchestra and now they have to listen to the "dumbed down" version if you will. They best part about that dance when they first did it was the music.
  • Kirstie and Maks did their first dance of the season, Cha-cha. Holy cow, the woman has lost weight, 38 inches to be exact. WOW!!! I was so glad to see her FINALLY get the scores she deserved. I fully believe that one of the main reasons why she didn't get the trophy was because the judges underscored all her dances last night. So when they added the perfect score from tonight it didn't help her that much with judges scores.
  • Hines and Kym- I must say I was kind of surprised by there choice of reprise dance. I liked his Samba when he first did it but I don't think it was his best best dance. It could be just me but I think my favorite dance he did was his paso or tango. I guess it doesn't matter anyways because they are the ones putting an extra trophy on their nightstand.
Time to put away the dancing shoes.
Until Season 13!!!

It's the Final Showdown!

This has probably been the least impressive finals I have seen in 12 seasons. Here is why…
  • Chelsea and Mark: Samba was just boring. I am so tired of seeing her in the fringe pants. Not only are they hideous, they are not flattering to anyone no matter how skinny you are. The music was horrible and it looked like a dance that would get an 8 half way through the competition. The fact that this dance got 10's baffles me. I don’t even know if I should even start talking about that mess also known as her freestyle. 1) Music was horrible and made no connection to her dance 2) She lost her footing in various spots going uncalled for 3) She had timing issues getting in and out of her lifts UNNOTICED by the judges. See where I am going with all of this.
  • Kirstie and Maks: I thought there first dance was ok. They should have done another dance like the Tango or Paso (they still were robbed of 10s for that dance). I don’t get how you can call out her dance for lift problems when you didn’t for the others. BE CONSISTENT in your judging. Nothing bothers me more than that.  She is 60 years old competing with people half her age in a UNITARD none the less. Give the woman credit and a score she deserves.
  • Hines and Kym: Honestly they had the best dances of the night. The Quickstep was finals worthy with lots of personality and energy. In my opinion they had an easier dance to work with just based on music alone for both dances. Now their freestyle was different and to be honest I liked it. I give him a lot of credit for doing it. I love the music and the theme.
So after seeing the dances just based on tonight, I think that Hines won. He simply had the best dances and had the least amount of problems.

Tomorrow they still have one more dance. I hope that they choose the right dance for them to do again because the viewers can’t pull them through anymore.
I guess we will all find out tomorrow!

Dancing with the Stars: In an Instant

I honestly thought that tonight’s round of dancing was just blah. Normally at least one dance gets me going whether it’s good or bad. But no one did tonight. I was kind of disappointed. Hard to believe.  This season really has been off and on with me. I guess it is fair to say that Dancing with the Stars is nothing without Derek Hough. It never really hit me until now. But it’s true. The Dances haven’t been overall that impressive or shall I say Emmy worthy.

Individual Dance:
  • Chelsea and Mark- I am so glad to FINALLY hear Mark say that he wanted to showcase Chelsea. It’s about time. I thought that it was a great dance but something just bothers me about her dancing. I really started to get annoyed with how fast she moves her arms to get to the next step. Maybe that has been what has always bothered be?!?!
  • Hines and Kym- Great choreography. I think that could be my favorite foxtrot I have seen this season. I was smiling watching it. The little part with the bench was great and made me love his smile even more.
  • Romeo and Chelsie- I love how their song was to Britney Spears because when I saw her costume, I immediately burst out into “Oops I did it again.” Don’t judge. Let’s get onto the dance. Honestly I didn’t see anything special about that dance besides the lighting. He had the intensity and all but I just didn’t see what the judges saw tonight.  Sorry
  • Ralph and Karina- First off, I just need to point out the obvious. The blush and eyeliner was a little too much. If I just happened to watch the dance without knowing everything beforehand, I would have never known that he was hurt. Especially knowing how long they had to practice due to his injury, incredible.
  • Kirstie and Maks- BEST DANCE of the individual dances. I wanted for them to dance longer. She has gotten so much better since week 1. So good! I can’t say enough.

Instant dance is back…dun Dun DUN!  I loved the instant dance last season. So the dancers of this season had a lot to live up to.  I was unimpressed. Kyle’s dance was perfection last season.  And I don’t feel like anyone topped his.

Instant Dance:
  • Chelsea and Mark- Remember what he said about showcasing Chelsea last dance? Ya it was short lived. I have to 200% agree with Carrie Ann. I thought it was off with the music. She did have to deal with that jump start so I will give her credit on that. But parts of the dance seemed rushed like maybe even she over danced parts of it. Because her facial expressions seemed overdone for the dance.  They were all over place.
  • Hines and Kym- I thought he did a great job. Considering that the jive was his instant dance, I think he did a good job. During the middle of the dance I thought he got off of the beat but he got right back on track.
  • Romeo and Chelsie- They started off good and lost something. I thought the beginning was good with lots of tricks. Parts of the dance that were good. But I guess in their minutes leading up to the dance they never really figured out how to connect each move to the next. I think that is why they had trouble towards the end.
  • Ralph and Karina- This really was an Instant dance, literally. It was Ralph standing and doing what he could and Karina doing a lot of the moves. But the fact that it was done on the spot, day of; you have to give him a lot of credit.
  • Kirstie and Maks- Gotta say that she looks fantastic tonight. Her dancing was OK and very basic. I think it could have used a little “spice” but the song that they chose was very simple; so it did fit the music. I think that Maks may have choreographed it to a faster beat but when they got their music they had to slow the dance down. That was why it was almost too simple.

Next week we are onto the semi finals. It’s Hard to believe that the show is almost over. Who do you hope gets the chance to go to the semi finals?

Dancing with the Stars Top 6

I guess tonight we can say tonight we have having mentor night on DWTS, including an extra judge. I honestly don’t know what to say. I feel like they decided to mix American Idol with DWTS. The one reason why I like DWTS so much better is because they have NO mentors.
Team Dance- I really didn’t like them both or one of them drastically more than the other. Over past seasons the team dances really used to be a dead ringer but these dances looked more like they were doing a dress rehearsal than the real thing.
·    Chelsea, Ralph, and Romeo- Loved their costumes, Hated the horrible cover of Lady Gaga (sounded sooooo old). And again we have the Mark show. During their solo part, honestly all I could look at was Mark trying to show off himself. Their dance was ok, not my favorite team dance. I feel like the choreography was average. Honestly it was too hip hoppy for the cha-cha. Why Len didn’t call it out, I will never know.
·    Hines, Kirstie, and Kendra- BETTER SONG CHOICE AND BETTER CHEOROGRAPHY! Kendra was so heavy footed and thought no matter what she does if she shakes her hips she is instantly sexy. And I have to say that I have never liked Kym dancing the cha-cha. It’s so weird looking. Sorry but I has always bothered me.
Individual Dances
·    Chelsea and Mark- 1. How is it fair that they get trained by Mark’s mom? I’m sorry but that makes no sense. Especially when they knew that she was doing a Latin dance and Mark’s mom would be the mentor. Talk about unfair advantage. 2. Her dance wasn’t very good. It made no sense. 3. I have no need to hear Mark’s stupid rant about what moves he put in. Put them in and stop complaining. If they saw the moves and they were done well there would be no need to add a 2 minute monologue about the moves you put in. I am just so over everyone adding in their extra two sense when it’s not needed. That’s all.
·    Kendra and Louis- Her costume was hideous. The top didn’t match the bottom and looked like it was for a different dance entirely. I am not going to hold back but I can’t stand or comprehend the idea that she is still her and Chris is not. She doesn’t have the dance skills to keep up with everyone else. That dance was boring. I saw nothing exciting about it and she looked like she was thinking about what was coming next the entire time.
·    Kirstie and Maks- NOOOOO! I was looking forward to this dance all week and I felt like we were watching Cloris Leachman 2.0. She was so cute though. I just wish that she didn’t lose her footing when they were side by side. She may have not been the best technically but she sure does know how to put her personality and everything she has into her dance.  Can you say difference in opinion with her judge’s scores? Complete from a 9 to 6. Weird.
·    Ralph and Karina- First off, Could Karina look any cuter in that costume? I loved their dance. It kept me on my feet the entire dance. I loved it. Ralph, my favorite karate kid, IS BACK!!!!! (FINALLY)
·    Hines and Kym- SHUT IT DOWN!!!! That was fantastic. I loved how smooth and sharp he was. I do understand why Carrie Ann thought he was off balance because I see where she would think like that. But who cares?!?! It was awesome!!!!
·    Romeo and Chelsie- Oh How I have missed the overproduced over setup stage on DWTS…NOT!!!!!  Come on! A fire pit? I am surprised there were no tiki huts for them to go into. I didn’t like it. Chelsie’s headband looked like it was going to fall off at any second. Romeo’s hat made no sense! Just Horrible. I could barely watch it.
But I also want to say this, the mentors were just annoying but I did surprisingly love the new judge idea. I liked his energy and the way he addressed everyone with both good and bad criticism. For some reason what he said really didn’t bother me because he had substance to back it up and I saw why he would say it. This guy was awesome! He just needs to work on scoring more consistently.
Don’t forget to VOTE for your favorite. Anyone can go home tomorrow!

Dancing with the Patriotic Stars??? You have to be kidding me!

First off, I just want to say how I hate that Sugar Ray went home and didn’t deserve to. In all honesty Kendra really did. I hate that she keeps saying that the judge’s comments “belittled” her. Get over it and move on. I don’t think your constant criticism of the judges will get you higher scores or make you dance better. Quit talking and start dancing. I am sorry but what she said really rubbed me the wrong way. Your dance last week was not good, take the criticism and move on.

Patriotic night??? You have got to be kidding me. I have never been so confused by a theme night in all my life. It’s not even the 4th of July and we are seeing tacky red, white and blue jumpsuits. Just because it is tax day doesn’t mean we have to dress Louis into Uncle Sam.  The producers and the costume department have lost their lids on this stupid idea. Don’t even get me started on the tacky, cheap decorations! Or the music for that matter.

  • Ralph and Karina- I don’t understand what the boy judges were talking about. You can’t do a classic traditional Brazilian samba when you have to dance to a country song. Carrie Ann was right. I have to give Karina a huge amount of credit for trying to merge the 2 opposite dances into 1 that looked normal.
  • Chris and Cheryl- I thought he did a great job despite the odd music choice they had to dance to. I mean come on America the Beautiful is beautiful but not a "dance" song. On the bright side, good job Len for giving them the 8 they DESERVE.
  • Petra and Dmitry- The quickstep is my favorite ballroom dance and that was fun and cute without her missteps. Take note Mark that is how you do a young quickstep.
  • Romeo and Chelsie- I am sorry but I honestly couldn’t really watch the dancing because I was so horrified by the music. But from the little I saw it was OK.
  • Hines and Kym- All I have to say is horrible horrible rumba music. How was it even considered a romantic song? At least his dance moves made up for the horrible music.
  • Kirstie and Maks- The dance doctor can visit me anytime. Travolta in the house!!! My Kirstie is back!!!!!  You go girl! So happy they had nothing else go wrong in their dance!
  • Kendra and Louis aka Uncle Sam- The 1000th dance??? UGH!!! Was it worth it? NO!!!! She marched really well and made me want to move to Canada. That had to be the worst dance I have seen ever. Louis is so much better that that. I feel so bad for Louis. Time to go!!
  • Chelsea and Mark- At least it was traditional. But that song has been and will always be a hot mess.

I hope that everyone enjoyed a night of comical dancing. I could not stop laughing. Tonight’s DWTS was so cheesy. How could anyone take it seriously? If I had gotten tickets to see the show live, I would have asked for my money back.

Dancing with the Stars: Classical Style

I think we can honestly say that we may have figured out what makes Len in a good mood! Classical music. All night long he was in a good mood and on performances where I thought he would rip them apart; he was surprisingly OK with it. Weird!
Now normally, I can’t stand the idea of theme nights but tonight was an exception. We have already had to go through the tragedy of themes such as TV, Rock and Roll, Movie, and the one I didn’t mind, Acoustic. And I guess we could add in classical under the, I don’t mind category. I mean let’s get realistic here. We didn’t have to listen to the horrible singing, it was quite enjoyable and dare I say relaxing to watch. I don’t know about you but I loved the theme by the end of the show. Cue the music and let’s go!
  • Romeo and Chelsie- I guess the producers didn't get the memo that fire and classical music have never mixed. The ring of fire and random fire bursts were TACKY!!!! I get the idea but when you are doing everything to classical music it DOES NOT WORK! Plain and simple.
  • Kendra and Louie- Way to go Kendra for ruining one of my favorite classical songs! I don’t know if I will ever be able to get your dance or “mafia” costume out of my head.
  • Sugar Ray and Anna- I honestly don’t know what to say but good try Sugar Ray Fairy!
  • Petra and Dmitry- Campbell’s soup anyone?!?! You know I had to go there. She was so good last week and I hate to say this week was a huge let down. Her shoulders and posture were off.  She did OK but it was not my favorite. By the way what the heck was up with Bruno’s comments or shall I say strip tease??? Awkward!
  • Ralph and Karina- First Goosebumps of the season!!!!!! Stunning and just plain breathtaking! Thank you Bruno for giving it a well deserved 9! No way possible they deserved a lower score than Chelsea and Mark.
  • Hines and Kym- The fire and flashing lights have got to go. Unless you are using them for an Aerosmith concert they shouldn’t be used for classical music and ballroom dancing. He had enough fire and energy himself at the end of the dance that he didn’t need it. Producers really needed to watch the dance closely during stage blocking and dress rehearsal, to see that he didn’t need the stage effects.
  • Chelsea and Mark- I don’t know if bad is even the best word to describe their styling and costume choice. I mean they danced to the Harry Potter theme and that is what they came up with. HORRIBLE.  I get that they are trying to be young but I have seen better Viennese waltz’s on YouTube to that song. There is a way to keep it young but this was beyond distracting and just put me off in a bad way. The rolls and push up jump thing was just another move to add to the “mark show.” Showcase your partner, not yourself!!!
  • Chris and Cheryl- For once in my life, I agree with Len! He did OK. He got certain parts right in the beginning when the music was soft. But once it got bigger he stayed the same. I will give him credit because that was a HARD piece of music to dance to.
  • Kirstie and Maks- #1: Take off that necklace! It takes away from your costume. #2: The singing was incredible!  #3: Did anyone else see her shoe come off? I missed it horribly. #4: Still not her best dance! Give her a Latin number and the Forget You Kirstie will be back!!!!
No way possible that Mark and Chelsea deserved the highest score of the night! I am sorry but that is going to bother me like Pia’s elimination from American Idol last week. That was beyond horrible and in my eyes deserved 6’s or better yet 5’s!
Who will get the ax tomorrow night? I guess we will have to wait and see.

Dancing With the Stars: Week 2

It's week 2. Dim the lights, let’s go! Wait... That's American Idol.

Live its Dancing with the Stars Recap!
  • Sugar Ray and Anna- Was the black and white at the very beginning of their dance really necessary? NO NO NO! It's pointless and stupid. He should have done a lot better this week. He should make it to next week, no doubt in my mind. Very glad that Anna has no problem saying something to the judges. Len obviously forgot to eat before the show which explains his bad mood. I mean how did it lack dance quality? He tried. Give him a break!
  • Kendra and Louis- That music was downright awful for this dance. I understand that they are trying to bring in younger music to bring in a younger audience. But if that is the case bring in new singers! The one's they have now aren't helping! Now, Louis normally does beyond amazing choreography but this was not his best and I have a feeling he will be holding back with Kendra. Don't ask me why but I just have that feeling. Weird, I know. Everything the judges said about her dancing is true and needs a lot more work.
  • Chelsea and Mark- OUCH! That's all I can say. Mark can say all he wants about it being a real jive but I feel otherwise. The makeup on Mark was downright distracting! Combine that with his over the top facial expressions and I can barely look at him. Now the choreography was definitely out there but not in a good way. I totally get how last season he was really not able to be as creative given his dance partner. But this was more of a freestyle than it was a Jive. Their feet and hands bothered me. She is too good of a dancer and too pretty to be really doing something like this. On the bright side... I liked the stage setup and music for once minus their costumes. Shocker!
  • Chris and Cheryl- They were actually good! They looked good together and he was charming. Never in a million years would you think I was talking about a wrestler but I am. Cheryl knows what she is doing! Plus you really can't go wrong with their song either.
  • Petra and Dmitry- At first thought I thought she did OK, like last week. But I watched again and she did better than OK. She deserved a 7 in there somewhere. Now I have no idea how she will do with where the votes are concerned but I guess we will have to see.
  • Kirstie and Maks- "Winning" I have never really honestly been a HUGE Maks fan mostly due to his cockiness but they did right when they paired them together. I love the way the act and how suddenly he is not that obnoxious this season. They are fun to watch and that not so planned kiss at the end was priceless. She did lose her steps and slow down as the dance went on but she did her best, had fun and tried! How do you like that George Lopez? Come on! How absurd was that comment he made?!?! I know that people are moving on but I still don't understand how he can say that when he is not the one dancing. His comments about her dancing last week were HORRIBLE.
  • Mike and Lacey- Way better than last week that is for sure. Not going to lie, I think he will be the first to go. I really don't know who is really is and he is not that good. Who is with me?
  • Romeo and Chelsie- First off, who else wants to go and buy her costume from this week. So cute! I don't know if he is the one to watch but I will agree that he did a great job. He has potential to go far especially with the girl votes. But can we talk about the cheesy tacky attempt at prom decorations on a TV show? I am so over the producers putting in the horrible decorations for almost every dance.
  • Wendy and Tony- What a horrible match up? I am sorry but they are not a good pair at all. Remember when Nicey was on? They had her with Louis and they matched really well together he was able to bring out her personality in almost all the dances and they did really well. Tony has yet to do that and I honestly feel like that is why she hasn't done well. They needed to put her with Louis and Kendra with someone else. Both Kendra and Wendy really don't have chemistry with their partners'. Just Sayin'.
  • Ralph and Karina- Sorry Judges but you are wrong! Ralph had the Best Jive of the Night. He did the Jive like it is suppose to be. You need to get your eyes checked.
  • Hines and Kym- Is it too much to ask to just rub his head for good luck? It was a great dance and managed to be light on the dance floor. Another football player to keep your eyes on. Darn it!

Cranky "fuddy-duddy" Len gave pretty much all the couples lower scores than they deserved except for Romeo. I don't know what his problem was last night but he needs to figure it out soon or it will be a LONG season.

I guess we will see who goes home tonight. My money is still on Mike and Lacey. Who do you think will go home tonight?

Dancing with the Stars

I have to say that when they announced the cast about a month ago I was pleasantly surprised. NO one immediately screamed "dance experience." Say what you want to say about it being a boring group of individuals but I beg to differ. Because let's face it nothing can be simple when you have people like Kirstie Alley, Kendra Wilkinson or Wendy "How you doin" Williams.

Premiere night of Dancing with the Stars revealed nothing new or special. I am not going to hold back but I was very surprised that they at least didn't have a new stage set up. I fell in love with the acoustic stage last season when they were "dancing in the round" so to speak. I thought it was so cool to see the audience all around them. I mean let's face it. Who wouldn't want to see the Male Pro's at a 360 angle? Minus Derek (still sad about that). Let's also talk about the useless props and lighting that the producers continue to use. It doesn't work. Sunflowers during Chelsie, weird lights for almost all of them and the sequin curtain to go in front of the band for Kirstie. I guess it is fair to say they haven't signed up for overproducers anonymous.

The first round of performance’s are always hard to judge because we have nothing to go off of previously. But I always have no problem.
  • Chelsea and Mark- I agree with a lot of what the judges have to say about her performance. Now I really had a hard time watching her when I have to see Mark every 2 seconds trying to make it the Mark show. I CAN'T take anymore of those stupid facial expressions. Enough already. He was so good his first season with Sabrina and I just want that Mark back that everyone fell in love with.
  • Wendy and Tony- Where was Wendy and why did she leave her attitude at the door? This girl was marching on the floor and barely picked up her feet. She looked terrified. I just hope she got a wakeup call and will bring Mrs. Diva to the floor next week.
  • Hines and Kym- Kym must have been to the zoo before she decided on the design of her costume. She was a Lion in crushed velvet (eww) with fringe coming out of her hip. That costume was beyond horrible and needs to be shredded immediately but I guess you could save it for Halloween.
  • Petra and Dmitry- Not much really to say. They did ok for first week. So um ya...
  • Romeo and Chelsie- He did a lot better than his dad did. That's for sure.
  • Sugar Ray and Anna- First off LOVED her costume. I had big hopes for him but I was let down when I saw him in hold. Those shoulders...Oh boy! I watched his performance again and I wonder how that song is a foxtrot. I may not know a lot about ballroom but I am a DWTS junkie and I know they have used it as a Cha cha in previous seasons.
  • Kendra and Louis- I was so distracted by her stupid booty pop that it took away from the dance. She was told to do a body roll and she does one like she would in the club with cha cha not in there at all. All that said I can't wait to see her in ballroom hold.
  • Ralph and Karina- I feel in love with the Karate kid last night. So charming and someone you can't help but love. I haven't seen Karina so happy with a partner in a long time. Now it could be after glow from her personal engagement but it's nice to see her in a good place and not be stuck with "the situation." Can we talk about how he looks the exact same? I need his number when I am 40. That's for sure
  • Chris and Cheryl- Music and their costumes bothered me. I know it shouldn't but if the music doesn't flow with the dance it really takes away the meaning of the dance.
  • Mike and Lacey- ....HUH...
  • Kirstie and Maks- HOLY COW!!!!! The best was saved for last. I have never been so surprised in my life. I have loved her ever sense "It Takes Two" (Don't judge) and I thought she would make it through a couple of rounds but man she has the potential to be in the finals. Can't go wrong with Forget You as your song. Just sayin.

Till next week.
Happy Dancing!
