RIP American Idol

Just when I thought I could perhaps start watching American Idol again they make the all important announcement that Mariah Carey is going to take Jlo's idol seat. GAG ME!

Correct me if I am wrong, but isn't this show supposed to be about the contestants and their talent. Crazy huh?

Mariah Carey as the new "judge," makes it spectacle of who can have a better comeback. JLO and Steven Tyler BOTH did it. Now Mariah wants to AND wants how much money? ARE YOU KIDDING ME? I don't want to know about your next single, video, or CD coming out. This is not supposed to be about your all mighty comeback after giving birth to miracle butterfly twins. (no offense)

Nigel Lythgoe needs to take a good hard look at what the show was first created on and the judges that first made the show a SUCCESS. They made sense together and the dynamic between all 3 of them yet alone between just Paula and Simon was enough to make out heads spin in pure delight. This is NOT a show about who can have the biggest superstar on the planet judge a singing competition show.

American Idol DIDN'T get nominated for The Reality Competition show at the 2012 Emmy's FOR A REASON! Get some real judges who will be honest and critical...NOT ones with hidden agendas.

RIP American Idol 2002- 2012

America Got it Right!!!!!!

So after what I thought was honestly a boring finale full of celebrities only on stage to promote their stuff and corny videos the winner is announced.....

American Idol Winner 2011

I honestly can't stop smiling or doing the happy dance! I really had no preference who won tonight because I knew that they both would have amazing careers in their future. But Secretly in my heart I wanted for him to win. Lauren is amazing don't get me wrong. I know she has nothing to worry about. I loved her voice and what would have been her single. She will go far on both the country and pop charts. But we have to be honest, that you cannot love his smile. I mean look at that face. Say what you want about the facial expressions I don't care. He had a style from the very beginning and always kept with it.

The final show was not anything special if you honestly want to look at it. All of the guests were there to promote a "new project." Think about it. Jack Black movie out on Friday, Beyonce new song about ruling the world in case you haven't heard already, Lady Gaga new album (I will get to her later) Marc Anthony trying to prove he is still around and more. Spiderman came out of nowhere, literally. Jennifer Lopez danced in a shrug of hair and rhinestone tights. Steven tried to prove that he still had pipes and was out of luck. TLC lip sank. We aren't stupid American Idol! I knew the second I saw Jack Black what you were doing. The only good performances of the night were Carrie Underwood with Lauren Alaina, and Scotty with Tim Mcgraw. At least they had the best. But on the other hand where was the Pia Toscano duet tonight? Still confused on why that never happened.

Lady Gaga. I honestly don't know where to begin. I am so tired of the act Gaga tries to put on. I am pretty much done with her now. She gave her soul to the devil and pretty much had sex on stage tonight.

~Anyways~
I am so happy for Scotty. He deserved this. I can't wait to hear him on the radio!

Now onto So You Think You Can Dance.

American Idol is Rigged!

Rigged. I tell you Rigged!

No way possible Pia Toscano deserved to go home tonight. She was supposed to be in the finals!!!

First they announced she was in the bottom 3. I was shocked but in the back of my mind, I thought she would be the first one to go back to safety. NO! Jacob is! So then all you see is Ryan standing with the envelope getting ready to say if Pia or Stefano would be going home. Stefano was in the bottom before and was not at his game this week. So naturally we are all thinking that it would be him that would be packing up and heading out. But NO! Instead Ryan says the unthinkable and says Pia. I don't think you could possibly understand how livid I was. I was ready to pull a Teresa Judice and flip some tables and call on Kanye to do what he does best. Then just pan over to the look on the judges, and Pia and you know exactly what they were thinking. Where is the save when you REALLY needed it?

Casey deserved to go home when he was eliminated otherwise he wouldn't have had that freak out attack that he did when they said they would save him and that it was "crazy" he was in that position. Well "newer and better" judges don't you wish you still had that save right now?!?! Wasted Save: Casey Abrams. Wasted Opportunity: Pia Toscano.

I hope that was why Jennifer Lopez was in a downpour of tears tonight! You can't just put all the blame on America for not voting because it wasn't our fault! If you give an honest critique of everyone, people would know who to vote for. But your "no one can do no wrong, you are my favorite" critique at the end of every performance gives America mixed signals. The judges should be ashamed for their lack of honesty in critiquing performances. This isn't elementary school where everyone needs to be told how special they are with a gold star by their name at the end of the day. If Simon were still here, Pia never would've never gone home.

It makes no sense how she was NEVER in the bottom and now all of the sudden she is going home. I am still livid and the show has been off over an hour now! She was the best and you must admit it!

I am DONE DONE DONE with this show!

American Idol: Top 9

I just wanted to say first off that I am sorry for not blogging last week for American Idol and DWTS. I was on Spring break and decided that for once in my life I would just sit back and watch. Shocker.
And then there were 9! It was so nice to be able to watch this week without have to mute once. Now the people that we have left are the people that I love or am curious about.  This week they did not disappoint.
  • Jacob- Another typical "inspiration" song by Jacob. Seriously?!?! He sounds the same every week and sings the same type of song every week. Do the judges say anything? NO. It makes no sense. At least he didn’t over sing this song like he has with every other flippin song. On a side note, find a new pair of pants that fits and is not white. Look at a color wheel and explore the wonderful world of colorful clothes.
  • Haley- I don’t think she can top off what she did last week. She failed in my book! She was way too raspy and the grunts just sounded like she has been hanging with Casey too much. At least she looked good.
  • Casey- Isn’t it nice to look at him without that entire beard? They answered my prayers last week about his hygiene habits but why can’t they do anything about the stupid grunts and the weird smile. NOT COOL! It is scary looking
  • Lauren- She reminds me so much of Kelly Clarkson. Am I dreaming or does anyone else see that? Anyways the song started off so sweet almost too sweet in my opinion. Half way through she does a key change and gets off…almost. Why couldn’t she just go with it? She wasn’t even moving around on stage like she normally does. Disappointed
  • James- He keeps on trying to be just like Steven Tyler and Adam Lambert’s clone child. Let me tell you something. It doesn’t work.
  • Scotty- I love him! Too bad I have never been a fan of the all denim suit look. Scotty your stylist let me down tonight. I hope he has better style in when he is in the run for the semi-finals. Didn’t you know I can predict the future?
  • Pia- I have been waiting for this performance since Tuesday last week. Pia + Tina Turner= epic!!! All I am going to say is AMAZEBALLS! Well worth the wait! I don’t care what anyone else has to say.
  • Stefano- Just like everyone was tired of Pia singing ballads I am proud to say the same for Stefano. This week I loved his song. But I have to agree with what Randy said. He got better as the song went on. The beginning wasn’t as smooth as it should have been.
  • Paul- I guess he never got the memo that he was on a television show not his own concert. That voice is so annoying. Sorry but you have to go!
Now we just have to see who didn’t get enough to pull them through to next week. I really have no clue who could possibly go home but I have a list of who I would like to see go and that includes Steven Tyler.

American Idol

I hate to say it but I think I am done, yes done with American Idol. Hard to believe but I really honestly can't stand it anymore.

This show is nothing without Simon. You cannot have a show that is based on rainbow and butterfly comments from the judges. I mean let's face it. This show was started with a judge’s panel that was different and with one that spoke more than his mind. He gave everyone a piece of his mind when they were outrageously horrible and never apologized for it. The new judges are WAY TOO NICE. I honestly have yet to hear a horrible comment come out of their mouths for anyone even when they deserved it.

Say what you want about Jlo trying to harsh up but it was all advice. Starting off your critique saying they were great then offering advice on what to do next week, like she did with Stefano and Pia, is not the way to judge contestants on a competition show. There is a way to be nice in your delivery and say something not so nice.

The performances last night were just boring. No one stood out and jumped at me or made me pick up my jaw from off the floor.
  • One thing for sure is I do NOT understand Casey Abrams. I don't understand why everyone loves him so much and thinks he is so good. His screeches are beyond horrible and his beard just bothers me. He managed to ruin "Heard it through the Grapevine" and no one seems to acknowledge that.
  • Thia was 2 seconds away from looking like she was singing karaoke at her high school prom.
  • I had a major issue with Jacob's performance and what he has done since the show has gone live. All of his performances seem the exact same to me and no one on the judge’s panel says anything about it to him. Last night he over sang another song with all this extra stuff and fluff that was not needed. But what amazed me more about his performance was the judge’s reaction. Steven Tyler proceeded to get out of his seat and walk on the stage to hug it out. Really?!?!?! I would love to see how Simon would have reacted to his performance and to Steven Tyler's reaction.
  • Stefano was ok nothing special like last week. I don’t see the big deal with the emotions that they were talking about.
  • My boy Scotty had a nice try at being forced to do the theme with his country twist. It was ok. He had some "Pitchy" moments but with those low notes and that accent. Love
  • I love my girl Pia but I agree with Jennifer Lopez's advice. Shockers!!! She looked flawless, sang flawless, and stood there flawless! Move around, do something.
  • Paul another contestant that I don't understand how he got on the show.
  • Naima seemed to miss what the show was about...SINGING. Not dancing. I love the song "Dancing in the Streets" but again I wanted to mute my TV. The dancing was not all that great, singing wasn't that great either, and the outfit was beyond horrible.
  • James appears to me to be the Adam Lambert of this season, style wise. The tail scarf, and one earrings is not my style and either is his music.
I guess we will see what happens tonight at the results show when we see who gets to go on tour and doesn't have to be forced to do a disastrous group number.  Oh boy!

Weekend Wrap Up

Thought about trying something new. I mean lets face it, the idea of writing a blog post sounds so much better then working on my research paper. WINNING!

Not so Sheen
OK even though I am beyond sick and tired of Charlie Sheen popping up as the main headline on my favorite celebrity news sites, I must thank him for adding "winning" into my new vocabulary. I mean come on who seriously hasn't used. You are in denial if you said no! Just sayin' His ranting and raging on his stupid stream account is RIDICULOUS! Police invaded his home a couple of days ago for what? Being an idiot? No his family thought the police would have reason to lock him up. NEWS CHECK! The guy is nuts and beyond the point of crazy. He's acting up because this is the best his career has been. His name is in the headlines and he is getting the attention of a lifetime. He doesn't deserve this. Don't get me wrong but come on! No one needs to be his intern or go see him live. I have to ask...Who watches 2 1/2 men anyways?

American Idol
I will admit when the list of new judges were announced I said I was not going to watch. Mostly because I thought there was a much more qualified list of names being thrown on the table that deserved it more. Like Shania Twain and Harry Connick Jr. But the little devil on my shoulder also known as “Mr. Curiosity” made me do it. And much to my surprise the auditions were quite enjoyable. Not that many mute worthy performances or crazy people. Everything seemed to be OK. I liked not hearing the fights and hear Paula try to put together a full sentence. Then we hit Top 24.

Now we have a problem. Apparently Jlo and Steven never heard of a thing called constructive criticism. How can you judge a competition show without being mean or having someone say that was like karaoke on a cruise ship? Let's admit it America! The show is nothing without Simon!!!! You can't possibly say that the girl who sang Umbrella on Tuesday was doing her thing. She was off on the very first note! Last I checked American Idol was a singing show not a dance away the mistakes show. If you have ears you know it was not good at all.

So my other bone to pick is Choirs, ALREADY?!?! That was something that we got towards the end when it was supposed to be all sentimental. Does an over sung version of I Believe I can Fly and a guy I have yet to figure out already deserve to be accompanied by the blue robes? NO! Plain and simple. Bring them back when they deserve to be backed up.

Enough of my ranting...

Don't forget to follow me on Facebook and Twitter!
Happy Weekend!
