I hate to say it but I think I am done, yes done with American Idol. Hard to believe but I really honestly can't stand it anymore.
This show is nothing without Simon. You cannot have a show that is based on rainbow and butterfly comments from the judges. I mean let's face it. This show was started with a judge’s panel that was different and with one that spoke more than his mind. He gave everyone a piece of his mind when they were outrageously horrible and never apologized for it. The new judges are WAY TOO NICE. I honestly have yet to hear a horrible comment come out of their mouths for anyone even when they deserved it.
Say what you want about Jlo trying to harsh up but it was all advice. Starting off your critique saying they were great then offering advice on what to do next week, like she did with Stefano and Pia, is not the way to judge contestants on a competition show. There is a way to be nice in your delivery and say something not so nice.
The performances last night were just boring. No one stood out and jumped at me or made me pick up my jaw from off the floor.
- One thing for sure is I do NOT understand Casey Abrams. I don't understand why everyone loves him so much and thinks he is so good. His screeches are beyond horrible and his beard just bothers me. He managed to ruin "Heard it through the Grapevine" and no one seems to acknowledge that.
- Thia was 2 seconds away from looking like she was singing karaoke at her high school prom.
- I had a major issue with Jacob's performance and what he has done since the show has gone live. All of his performances seem the exact same to me and no one on the judge’s panel says anything about it to him. Last night he over sang another song with all this extra stuff and fluff that was not needed. But what amazed me more about his performance was the judge’s reaction. Steven Tyler proceeded to get out of his seat and walk on the stage to hug it out. Really?!?!?! I would love to see how Simon would have reacted to his performance and to Steven Tyler's reaction.
- Stefano was ok nothing special like last week. I don’t see the big deal with the emotions that they were talking about.
- My boy Scotty had a nice try at being forced to do the theme with his country twist. It was ok. He had some "Pitchy" moments but with those low notes and that accent. Love
- I love my girl Pia but I agree with Jennifer Lopez's advice. Shockers!!! She looked flawless, sang flawless, and stood there flawless! Move around, do something.
- Paul another contestant that I don't understand how he got on the show.
- Naima seemed to miss what the show was about...SINGING. Not dancing. I love the song "Dancing in the Streets" but again I wanted to mute my TV. The dancing was not all that great, singing wasn't that great either, and the outfit was beyond horrible.
- James appears to me to be the Adam Lambert of this season, style wise. The tail scarf, and one earrings is not my style and either is his music.
I guess we will see what happens tonight at the results show when we see who gets to go on tour and doesn't have to be forced to do a disastrous group number. Oh boy!
